はじめまして! Howdy and Aloha!
Welcome to my new blog - a site I am creating based on the inspiration aquired from my friend Sameer, a truly brilliant and devoted web addict. Another inspiration for this blog comes from my current situation, living and working with Sam in Japan on a project that really has no official name. Sam and I like to call it "Dejiden" for short - but most others call it "the project." In sum, The Project is the creation of a digital archives and oral history for the Japanese research organization Sokendai (総研大) based in Hayama, Kanagawa. I, like Sam, was recruited for the project by our professor, Dr. Sharon Traweek from UCLA, who is heading our collaboration along with Dr. Kohji Hirata of Sokendai, The Graduate University for Advanced Studies.
Since being involved with this project, I have become more enamored of the idea of keeping a digital archive for myself - not only to have some sort of space where I can sharte my notes about my personal and professional experiences here in Hayama, but also as type test cite for digitally "publishing" my ideas for the project.
I'm quite new to the world of "blogging" - so as they say around here: どうぞよろしくお願いします- "please don't hold this against me!"
